Presidente Juan Bosch International Airport in Samaná (El Catey)

Located in El Catey, the Presidente Juan Bosch International Airport was established to boost tourism in the northeastern Dominican Republic. Since its opening in 2006, it has hosted international flights from Europe and North America.

In January 2022, the airport handled:

  • 27 flights, averaging 7 flights per week
  • Frequent flights from Montréal, Canada (YUL) and Charlotte, USA (CLT)

On July 17, Air Europa inaugurated a direct flight between Madrid and Samaná, bringing 270 passengers weekly. This development supports the gradual expansion of tourism in the region.
